In late April 2012, the company held a meeting to summarize the experience gained from repairing and retrofitting imported couplings. Since 1995, Schenck has been leading efforts to localize and modernize imported couplings used by major petrochemical, steel, and air separation companies. By the end of April 2012, more than 100 sets of couplings—originally manufactured by U.S. brands like Kopflex/Ameridrive, UK’s Flexibox, Japan’s EKK, and Germany’s Flender/Rigiflex, which had either failed or caused excessive vibration—had been successfully repaired, retrofitted, or completely remanufactured. Each unit is now operating smoothly and reliably.

Since 1995, Schenck has been working on transforming imported couplings used by major petrochemical, steel, and air separation companies into domestically produced alternatives.
By the end of April 2012, more than 100 sets of couplings—from manufacturers such as U.S.-based Kopflex/Ameridrive, UK's Flexibox, Japan's EKK, and Germany's Flender/Rigiflex (which were either damaged or causing vibrations)—had been repaired, retrofitted, or completely rebuilt—and every single unit is now operating smoothly.
